OACCUs challenge: Christos' contribution

OACCUs challenge: Christos' contribution
Hi, I'm Chris, a young Greek university student. I'm passionate about creating innovative applications that enhance people's lives. In addition to my love for programming, I enjoy playing the piano and taking long walks while listening to music or podcasts. Despite facing cancer twice in my life, first at the age of 2 and then again at 12, I've learned that life's challenges don't define us; it's our response to them that truly matters. These experiences have shaped my perspective and strengthened my resolve to embrace life to the fullest.

Disclaimer: Τhis text is an attempt to provide insight into a typical day in my life after overcoming cancer. It is not intended to serve as medical advice. For personalized guidance regarding your health, always consult with a trusted medical professional.

My 4 core values:

  • Relaxation (stress-free)
  • Love
  • Expression
  • Creation

My 4 core habits:
  • Walking: Our bodies are made to move. Walking relaxes me and help me stay healthy.
  • Fasting: Abstention from food or kinds of food (meat) for a certain amount of time renews my body and helps me heal during sick days
  • Meditation: Mostly in nature. One of my favorite acts of self-love
  • Creating: Music and programming are healthy ways to turn my feelings into something valuable

Walking
Typically, I engage in an hour-long walk most days, as part of my routine. The goals I aim to achieve through this practice are as follows:
  • Reduce stress
  • Activate body mechanisms that improve the immune system, metabolism and overall health

You can be a victim of cancer, or a survivor of cancer. It’s a mindset.
